VeryDarkman Reacts To Tribal Tweet Aimed At Davido, Warns Against Ethnic Division

Controversial social commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has reignited conversations online after a video of him strongly criticizing tribalism went viral on social media.

In the widely shared clip, VDM — who was recently re-arraigned by the police on charges of cyberbullying — reacted to a tribal comment targeting Nigerian music star Davido. The post, made by an X (formerly Twitter) user, accused Davido of “frolicking” with Igbos and insinuated that his association with the Igbo community would eventually lead to betrayal.

Responding with visible frustration, VDM stated:

“There are some tweets that you will put online, and we will find you at home and beat you because you are the one who wants to spoil Nigeria.”

He went on to describe the tweet as “very stupid,” emphasizing that such divisive statements contribute to the ethnic tensions that continue to plague the country.

He questioned the mindset of Nigerian youth in 2025, saying:

“This is what Nigerian youths are doing in 2025? While your mates in China are leading in AI and boosting their economies, you’re online insulting tribes. When will you guys get tired?”

VDM concluded by stressing that tribalism remains a significant barrier to national unity and progress, calling on young Nigerians to rise above ethnic bias and focus on building a united nation.
