Nathan Joseph Fielder was born on May 12, 1983, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to Eric and Deb Fielder, who worked as social workers. He has a younger sister named Becca. Fielder attended Point Grey Secondary School and participated in the improv comedy group alongside Seth Rogen.
He later earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria before moving to Toronto to study comedy writing and performance at Humber College. Fielder comes from a Jewish background, though his current religious affiliation has not been publicly specified.

Nathan Fielder began his career as a writer and correspondent on the CBC series This Hour Has 22 Minutes. His “Nathan On Your Side” segments caught audiences’ attention with their awkward, investigative style.
His breakthrough came with the creation of Nathan for You (2013–2017), a Comedy Central show where he offered bizarre business solutions to small companies.
