Fantastic Four’s New Photo Shows Johnny Storm & Reed Richards’ Tensed Space Mission

A new photo from The Fantastic Four: First Steps featuring Johnny Storm and Reed Richards hints at the team’s second mission into space. The image is yet another promotional material that has been dropped for the movie. Releasing on July 25, 2025, and directed by Matt Shakman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the first film to be released in Phase 6 of the MCU.

Fandango recently dropped a new photo from The Fantastic Four: First Steps with Johnny Storm and Reed Richards. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Fandango stated, “Take flight with Marvel’s #TheFantasticFour First Steps, starring Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Vanessa Kirby and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Exclusively in movie theaters this July 25.”

However, their suits and other aspects of the image suggest that the team might be on a second mission to space. This mission is speculated to be their journey to the cosmos to confront Galactus.

In the image, fans can notice Joseph Quinn’s Johnny and Pedro Pascal’s Reed wearing space suits, which have the “4” logo on them. This further fueled speculations that the team is on their 2nd mission to space, after becoming the Fantastic Four, because these suits differ from the ones that were shown in the first teaser trailer. The suits from the first trailer, as shown in the below post on Reddit, don’t have a “4” logo on them.

Additionally, the second trip to space teased in the photo could also be the Fantastic Four coming to Earth-616 as hinted in the Thunderbolts* post-credits scene. In it, the new Avengers detect an unidentified signal coming from space. When they look at it, it turns out to be an extra-dimensional spaceship with a “4” logo on it.
