Godzilla x Kong: Supernova Set Video Teases Mass Chaos in New Monsterverse Movie

A new video taken from the set of Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, also known as Godzilla x Kong 2, has emerged online.

Godzilla x Kong: Supernova is the forthcoming Monsterverse movie that serves as a sequel to 2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Directed by Grant Sputore, the film will be released in United States theaters in 2027.

What happens in the Godzilla x Kong: Supernova set video?

The set video, shared on TikTok by The Courier Mail, reveals that the new Monsterverse movie has been filming in Australia for about three days.

“Godzilla and King Kong have officially taken over Brisbane,” the person in the video narrates. “William Street in the CBD has been completely transformed into a fiery disaster film for the latest Monsterverse film Godzilla x Kong: Supernova. Filming has been underway for the past three days, and today’s scene includes a full-blown London-style crash site with tanks, fire trucks, British police cars, and about 50 extras running through chaos. Lead actor Dan Stevens was spotted filming a high-stakes scene jumping out of a fire truck in front of military personnel right outside the Star Casino.”

In addition to Stevens, Godzilla x Kong 2 stars Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Sam Neill.

Supernova will be the sixth feature film in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse franchise. which began in 2014 with Godzilla. That was followed by 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong before The New Empire arrived. Additionally, an animated Skull Island series premiered on Netflix in 2023, while Apple TV+ launched Monarch: Legacy of Monsters in November 2023. A second season of Monarch is currently in the works.

Godzilla x Kong: Supernova will be released in United States theaters on March 26, 2027.
