Austin Butler Runs for His Life in Caught Stealing Trailer

Sony Pictures has shared the official Caught Stealing trailer for its upcoming crime thriller drama led by Academy Award-nominated actor Austin Butler. The movie is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 29.

What happens in the Caught Stealing trailer?

The video features Butler’s main character, who agrees to take care of his neighbor’s cat while he is away. However, his simple cat-sitting turns into a nightmare when he accidentally gets involved in a war between different New York City gangs. The ensemble cast also includes Regina King, Zoë Kravitz, Matt Smith, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Griffin Dunne, Benito A Martínez Ocasio, and Carol Kane.

The film is directed and produced by Darren Aronofsky from a screenplay written by Charlie Huston, based on his 2004 novel of the same name. It is produced by Ari Handel, Jeremy Dawson, and Dylan Golden, with Charlie Huston and Ann Ruark serving as executive producers.

“Hank Thompson (Butler) was a high-school baseball phenom who can’t play anymore, but everything else is going okay. He’s got a great girl (Kravitz), tends bar at a New York dive, and his favorite team is making an underdog run at the pennant,” reads the official synopsis. “When his punk-rock neighbor Russ (Smith) asks him to take care of his cat for a few days, Hank suddenly finds himself caught in the middle of a motley crew of threatening gangsters. They all want a piece of him; the problem is he has no idea why. As Hank attempts to evade their ever-tightening grip, he’s got to use all his hustle to stay alive long enough to find out.”
