Nollywood star Mercy Johnson Okojie has responded to growing concern from fans after a video surfaced online suggesting she was battling cancer.

The viral clip, which drew attention due to the actress’s noticeable weight loss, featured her speaking about a medical condition that led to the removal of her thyroid gland. Many viewers believed the video was recent and that she was currently undergoing cancer treatment.

However, Mercy has now set the record straight. In a new statement, she explained that the video had been edited in a misleading way. She clarified that she is medically stable and not presently facing a cancer battle.

Addressing the misunderstanding, she said:

“Thank you so much for all of your calls and your messages. The clip was cut. I said I’ve a cancer scare means that I’ve this swelling on my neck”

The actress went on to express deep gratitude to her fans for their concern and support during the confusion.
