EPL: I worry about them most – Redknapp names team that may not qualify for UCL

Former Liverpool star, Jamie Redknapp, has said that Nottingham Forest is not guaranteed qualification for UEFA Champions League next season even if they beat Chelsea in their last game of the season.

Chelsea’s final Premier League game of the 2024-25 season is away against Nottingham Forest.

The match comes up this Sunday as Chelsea seek to qualify for the Champions League.

It would be an improvement for the Blues who finished sixth last season and are playing the UEFA Europa Conference League this season.

Chelsea have already reached the final of the competition and will face Athletic Bilbao this Thursday.

Going into the final game, Chelsea are fourth in the table with 66 points from 37 league matches.

Nottingham Forest are 7th with 65 points from the same number of games.

Redknapp told Sky Sports that Enzo Maresca’s team have a difficult task for securing UEFA Champions League next season.

“I think they have got the toughest game… to go to Forest [on the final Premier League matchday], that’s a really difficult game,” he said.

“If they can get three points there, obviously they’ve given themselves Champions League football. It’s going to be tight… anything can still happen.

“[The Blues] are the team that I worry about the most, going to Forest.”

The Englishman added that Forest’s 2-1 victory over West Ham United has given them the belief that they can go all the way.

But the former Liverpool man noted that “Even if they win [against Chelsea], it doesn’t guarantee they go into the Champions League.”

Chelsea beat Manchester United 1-0 in their last home game of the season, while Forest beat West Ham United 2-0 away to brighten their chances of making the top four.
