Ketchup Entertainment has announced The Day the Earth Blew Up Max release date for the upcoming streaming debut of Warner Bros. Animation’s newest Looney Tunes movie. This comes after over two months since the animated comedy movie had made its theatrical debut.

“Porky Pig and Daffy Duck venture to the big screen as unlikely heroes and Earth’s only hope when their antics at the local bubble gum factory uncover a secret alien mind control plot. Faced with cosmic odds, the two are determined to save their town (and the world!)… that is if they don’t drive each other totally looney in the process,” reads the official synopsis.

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie is now scheduled to start streaming on Friday, June 27 on Max. It will then be followed by its broadcast debut on Saturday, June 28 on HBO. It features the voices of Eric Bauza, Candi Milo, Peter MacNicol, Wayne Knight and Laraine Newman.

The movie was directed by Pete Browngardt from a screenplay written by Darrick Bachman, Pete Browngardt, Kevin Costello, Andrew Dickman, David Gemmill, Alex Kirwan, Ryan Kramer, Jason Reicher, Michael Ruocco, Johnny Ryan, and Eddie Trigueros. It was executive produced by Pete Browngardt and Sam Register, with Michael Baum producing. At the moment, the film holds a Certified Fresh rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie’s upcoming Max debut serves as a full circle moment since it was original developed as an HBO Max original. However, due to Warner Bros. Discovery’s cost-cutting measures in 2022, the movie was removed from its slate, and was instead shopped around to other streamers. In 2023, it was confirmed that Ketchup Entertainment has decided to give the film a theatrical release, after successfully acquiring its distribution rights.
