Andor Star is ‘Wide Open’ to Playing Star Wars Role Again in Future Project

Benjamin Bratt says he’s “wide open” to playing Bail Organa again in another Star Wars project following his role in Andor Season 2.

The new season of Andor, which was created by Tony Gilroy, stars Bratt as Bail Organa. Actor Jimmy Smits played Bail Organa in Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and 2022’s Obi-Wan Kenobi. He was unable to return for Andor because of scheduling conflicts.

Cannonically, following the events of Andor Season 2, Bail becomes Leia Organa’s adoptive father before he is then killed on Alderaan when the planet is destroyed by the Death Star, which was depicted in the original Star Wars movie.

However, while his character may not be able to appear in other projects set after A New Hope, there’s always the chance he could show up in something set before the events of that film.

What did Andor’s Benjamin Bratt say about reprising his Star Wars role?

When asked by Entertainment Weekly if he’d be open to playing the character again in future projects, Bratt said he was “wide open” should the opportunity arise.

“Listen, as long as there’s interest, I’d show up for Tony to do craft services on his next job. I just have such tremendous respect for him,” he said. “And the shame of it was, I didn’t really ever see him on set. He was stateside and then was locked down because of the writers’ strike. He put together a remarkable team of writers and directors and actors, and the whole thing works from top to bottom. This is television as good as it gets, as far as I’m concerned. And I’m just so grateful and immensely proud of the fact that I am in some small part of it.”
