Police arrest man for defiling four boys in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has announced the arrest of a 22-year-old man, Habubakar Umar, for allegedly defiling four boys whose ages range between eight and nine years old

“The Operatives of Adamawa State Police Command attached to State intelligent Department (SID), has on the 14/5/2025 arrested one Habubakar Umar, 22 years old, a resident of Rumde Baru, Yola North local government area and a commercial tricyclist, for an alleged act of sodomizing four little male children aged between 8 and 9 years,” the command stated.

In a statement released on Thursday by the spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the command said the arrest followed a complaint from the father of two of the victims who said that the suspect was hired to be conveying his children to school only for him to take advantage of that and has on several occasions lured them into having his way with them.

The suspect confessed committing the crime and blamed it on the devil.

Nguroje said the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has condemned the incident and directed that the case be diligently investigated and charged to court without delay.

“The command remains committed to protecting the rights of children and urges parents and guardians to be vigilant and report people of suspicious character to the nearest police stations,” Nguroje stated.
