T-Dollar and TobiNation Sentenced to Six Months Imprisonment for Naira Abuse
Popular entertainers T-Dollar and TobiNation have been sentenced to six months in prison for defacing the Nigerian currency, a practice known as Naira mutilation.
The judgment was delivered on Thursday, May 8, 2025, by the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), following the duo’s guilty plea.
Presiding over the case, Justice Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi issued the sentence with an alternative of a ₦200,000 fine.
This case adds to a growing list of Nigerian celebrities recently caught up in similar legal troubles involving the abuse of the national currency. Notable figures like singer Portable, actress Iyabo Ojo, and comedian AY Makun have all faced EFCC scrutiny over related offenses.
