Nollywood actor Benson Okonkwo has spoken out about the unwavering support he has received from actress and influencer May Edochie.

In a heartfelt video shared on Sunday, May 11, Benson expressed his gratitude towards May and her loyal fans, known as ‘May Nation,’ for their continuous support over the years.

“I want to thank everyone who has reached out to me, but especially to Queen May and her Nation for their constant encouragement. I’m truly grateful for my beautiful Queen May, who has always been there for me,” he said in the video.

The actor, who previously appealed for help from producers, directors, and industry colleagues regarding his career, also took the opportunity to address online negativity directed at May.

“I want to urge some of you who have been attacking Queen May and tagging her—please, enough is enough! She has been a pillar of support for me without any request from my side. Let me make it clear: Queen May is neither a director nor a producer. My message is for the producers, not to criticize or drag Queen May. Please stop it,” Benson emphasized.

This message comes shortly after Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop reacted to Yul Edochie’s controversial comments about his marriage. In his post, Stanley urged May to support Benson in his career, saying, “It’s time for @maynationn_ @maynationdiaspora @mayyuledochie to back Benson Okonkwo. May should post to encourage people to help him.”

Benson’s emotional plea highlights the solidarity he shares with May Edochie and her followers, as well as his call for unity within the industry.
