NBC Orders New Tracy Morgan Comedy, Renews 2 TV Shows

NBC has officially granted a series order to its newest Tracy Morgan comedy show, titled The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. The project will reunite Morgan with the 30 Rock team, including Tina Fey, who is serving as an executive producer.

In addition, the network has also announced the renewals of its drama shows The Hunting Party starring Melissa Roxburgh (Manifest), and Brilliant Minds led by Zachary Quinto (Americn Horror Story). Both shows made their respective series debut during the show’s 2024-2025 broadcast schedule.

“Inspired by Oliver Sacks’ extraordinary life and work, the series follows revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist Oliver Wolf (Quinto) and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while also grappling with their own relationships and mental health,” reads the loglin for Brilliant Minds.

“When a secret prison suffers a mysterious explosion that allows the nation’s most violent serial killers to escape, a former profiler is thrust back into a thrilling game of cat and mouse. Alongside a team of soldiers, spies and special agents, she has no choice but to track down and recapture these dangerous criminals… before they kill again,” reads the logline for The Hunting Party.

What is NBC’s new Tracy Morgan comedy show about?

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins will also be led by Harry Potter vet Daniel Radcliffe, who has been tapped to play an award-winning filmmaker named Arthur Tobin. In the show, Morgan will be playing the role of a “disgraced former football player (Morgan) is on a mission to rehabilitate his image.” Joining Morgan and Radcliff are Erika Alexander, Bobby Moynihan, Precious Way, and Jalyn Hall.

The series is written and executive produced by Robert Carlock and Sam Means. It is executive produced by Eric Gurian of Little Stranger banner, David Miner of 3 Arts, and Rhys Thomas, who will also bew directing the pilot. The project will be a part of Fey’s overall deal with Universal Studios.
