The Conjuring: Last Rites Trailer See Ed & Lorraine Warren Investigate Their Final Haunting

The first trailer for The Conjuring: Last Rites has been revealed.

The Conjuring: Last Rites arrives in United States theaters this coming September. Directed by Michael Chaves, the film once again sees Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren.

What happens in The Conjuring: Last Rites trailer?

The Conjuring: Last Rites trailer catches up with the Warrens in 1986, five years after the events of the third movie, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. Ed and Lorraine have officially retired from the paranormal investigation business; however, they’re called back into action for one last case.

That case is the Smurl family haunting, which occurred in Pennsylvania. The Smurls are played by Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, Tilly Walker, Molly Cartwright, Peter Wight, and Kate Fahy.

“It is one of the more Googleable [cases],” producer Peter Safran told Entertainment Weekly. “It really fit the bill for us, being able to lean into something that audiences could go and Google after the movie. ‘Oh! They really did have that many children.’ ‘Oh! They really were this age, and the grandparents really were there.’ All of that stuff has always been meaningful to us.”

The film will also star Mia Tomlinson as a now-adult Judy, who is the daughter of Ed and Lorraine. Judy was previously played by Sterling Jerins in the main Conjuring franchise, while Mckenna Grace portrayed her in 2019’s Annabelle Comes Home.

“It’s a slightly different take on the Judy that we’ve seen before,” Chaves said. “I think it’s a more interesting and a more real take [on] what it’s like to grow up the daughter of the Warrens. What is it like when you are living with an artifact room that is filled with demonic items? How hard is that? What impact does that leave on a person’s life?”

The Conjuring: Last Rites will be released in United States theaters on September 5, 2025, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
