What happens in the Honey Don’t! trailer?

The Honey Don’t! trailer sees Qualley play a private investigator who is looking into a mysterious church that’s run by Chris Evans. The cast of the movie also includes Aubrey Plaza, Charlie Day, and Billy Eichner.

“Honey Don’t is a dark comedy about Honey O’Donahue, a small-town private investigator, who delves into a series of strange deaths tied to a mysterious church,” the official synopsis reads.

The film is produced by Coen, Cooke, Robert Graf, Tim Bevan, and Eric Fellner.

Coen is known for directing movies alongside his brother, Joel, together known as the Coen Brothers. Their filmography includes 1984’s Blood Simple, 1987’s Raising Arizona, 1996’s Fargo, 1998’s The Big Lebowski, 2007’s No Country for Old Men, 2010’s True Grit, 2013’s Inside Llewyn Davis, and 2018’s The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, among other titles.

Since The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, the Coens have embarked on their own solo directing careers. Joel made The Tragedy of Macbeth in 2021, while Ethan made a 2022 documentary titled Jerry Lee Lewis: Trouble in Mind before making 2024’s Drive-Away Dolls. That movie also starred Qualley and was co-written by Cooke. Cooke, Coen, and Qualley are also planning to collaborate on a third movie called Go Beavers, though not much is known about that project at this time.

Honey Don’t! will hold its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival later this month. It will then be released in United States theaters on August 22, 2025, from Focus Features.
