Nigerian Singer Tems Dazzles in Ankara at 2025 Met Gala
Nigerian music sensation Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, made a striking appearance at the 2025 Met Gala, earning both praise and criticism for her bold fashion choice.
The prestigious fashion event, held on May 5 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, brought together global celebrities under this year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The theme centered around the evolution of suits and menswear within Black culture, encouraging diverse interpretations.
Tems, a Grammy-winning artist known for her distinct style and voice, turned heads with her outfit—a structured, buttoned-up suit dress made from vibrant blue Ankara fabric. She accessorized it with a green cravat and a matching green umbrella, bringing a culturally rich African twist to the night’s menswear-inspired theme.
