UCL: Lamine Yamal breaks Mbappe’s record after Barcelona draw 3-3 with Inter Milan
Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal, on Wednesday night became the youngest player ever to score in a Champions League semi-final.
In doing so, Yamal beat the record set by Kylian Mbappe.
The Spain international dribbled through the Inter Milan defence to curl in a brilliant goal.
Barca were already 2-0 down at that point, thanks to goals from Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries.
Yamal’s stunning solo goal brought Barcelona back into the game and the two sides eventually played out a 3-3 draw in the first leg of the semi-final clash.
He is now the youngest player to ever score in a last-four tie in the competition, doing so at the age of 17 years and 291 days.
Mbappe scored his goal in the semi-final in 2017, as Monaco lost 2-1 to Juventus. He was 18 years and 140 days old.
Yamal has four Champions League goals and four assists in 11 games. He has scored in every stage of the competition so far.
