A Minecraft Movie to Host Special Meme-Along ‘Block Party Edition’ Screenings

Warner Bros. is ready for fans of chicken jockeys to celebrate, as they’ve announced that special screenings of A Minecraft Movie will begin soon that allow for audiences to sing and talk.

When are the A Minecraft Movie Block Party Edition screenings?

The new screenings, dubbed “Block Party Edition” screenings, will be held on May 2, 2025, and will encourage audiences to sing and talk along with the film. In a statement on the news (via THR), Warner Bros. invited fans to the celebration.

“Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures invite fans back to the theater to experience A Minecraft Movie together in a whole new way! You know the moments. You know the lines. You love the songs! Now it’s time to get loose, laugh out loud and belt out those lyrics like a true diamond-tier fan.”

A Minecraft Movie stars Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen. The film follows a group of people who are transported to the Overworld, where they then meet Black’s Steve. Together, they have to work together to find a way home, all while battling creepers, skeletons, and more.

Jennifer Coolidge also stars in the movie in an undisclosed role. Based on the best-selling Mojang Studios video game, the film is produced by Momoa, Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jill Messick, Torfi Frans Olafsson, and Vu Bui. Todd Hallowell, Kayleen Walters, Brian Mendoza, Jonathan Spaihts, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lary, and Anthony Tittanegro serve as executive producers.
