Reports are claiming that actress Skai Johnson‘s boyfriend, Deondre Burgin, was arrested by the authorities and spent a week behind bars before he was released yesterday. This is reportedly the second time Burgin has been apprehended in six months. Notably, Johnson is arguably best known for portraying Zuri Ross in the Disney sitcom Jessie and its spin-off Bunk’d.

Burgin, who has a child with Jackson, was arrested by officers of the Taylor Mill Police Department at a gas station on April 17 due to an outstanding warrant. TMZ reports that the authorities in Hamilton County, Ohio, activated the warrant after Burgin, who is also known as Yerkky Yerkky, didn’t appear in court for allegedly not showing his car’s license plate. Officers recognized Burgin from the National Crime Information Center database and decided to take him into custody.

Earlier, in November 2024, it was reported that the authorities apprehended Burgin for a juvenile parole violation. TMZ cited a police report to mention that he tried to flee and suffered a cut on the cheek after a fall. As a result, he received a citation for misdemeanor obstruction of official business.

In the same month, Jackson confirmed during an interview with People magazine that she was having a baby with her boyfriend. “I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter in my life — embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects. My heart is so full,” she said. At the time, Jackson hadn’t disclosed who her romantic partner was.

Burgin is a content creator and entrepreneur who is said to be in his 20s. Jackson and Burgin welcomed their son in January 2025. However, the latter was reportedly not present for the birth because he was in jail at the time.
