MC Oluomo Defends “Kundusi” Blunder, Boasts About His Children’s Educational Success

Musiliu Akinsanya, the president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), better known as MC Oluomo, has addressed the public backlash following his viral “kundusi” blunder. The incident, which saw him mispronounce “kudos” as “kundusi,” sparked mockery online.

In a recent video, MC Oluomo admitted that he did not receive formal education, which sometimes affects his English, but he emphasized his success in ensuring his children received top-tier education abroad. His children now hold citizenships in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

"I didn’t go to school, I started in the transport business as a bus conductor,” he shared. “But today, my children are highly educated and can express themselves better than most people mocking me.”

Despite the criticism, he confidently declared, “Grammar won’t fix Nigeria. I may not speak English well, but I understand Yoruba.” He went on to reflect on his remarkable rise in the transport union, progressing from a bus conductor to the national president of NURTW. “From bus conductor to treasurer, to chairman, to national president. I worked hard to get here. I am not educated, but I earned my position.”

In a light-hearted moment, he added, “So they’re laughing at me for saying ‘kundusi’? Isn’t my child’s name Qudus? And you, with all your education, what have you achieved?”

MC Oluomo’s children have consistently defended him against critics. In 2022, his son, known as King West on Instagram, fiercely defended his father, saying, “If my father was your father, you would never lack love, care, or protection. Get a father like mine.”
