Report: Spider-Noir Release Date Window for Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Man Show Revealed

A recent report has narrowed down the release date window of Spider-Noir, a Spider-Man TV series that revolves around the Spider-Man Noir character from Marvel Comics. Nicolas Cage stars as the lead protagonist in the live-action series, having previously voiced the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the 2018 animated feature.

Nicolas Cage-led Spider-Noir series could get an early 2026 release date

Spider-Noir will debut in the US on MGM+ in early 2026, per a report published by Nexus Point News. The series will later become available for global audiences on Prime Video. The series will have eight episodes. In March 2025, cast member Luke Haas speculated during an interview with ComingSoon that the show might come out both in color and black-and-white.

The official logline for Spider-Noir reads, “An aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.” Besides Cage and Haas, the cast of the show includes Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Brendan Gleeson, Li Jun Li, Jack Huston, and Abraham Popoola.

As the logline indicates, the series will take place in an alternate version of New York City of the 1930s. Cage’s character is a tired and worn-down detective and the only superhero in the timeline, struggling with what purportedly is a mysterious past as well as his current circumstances.

Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot have developed Spider-Noir for Sony and Amazon MGM Studios. As indicated above, the character originated in Marvel Comics. Created by co-writers David Hine and Fabrice Sapolsky, artist Carmine Di Giandomenico and costume designer Marko Djurdjević, Spider-Man Noir has been around in the comics since 2009. He is an inhabitant of Earth-90214 (alternatively known as Earth-Noir), active in a rendition of New York City during the Great Depression.

Production for Spider-Noir reportedly started in August 2024 and came to an end by mid-March 2025.
