Silent Night, Deadly Night Reboot Unveils First Photo of Billy Chapman as Filming Begins

The first photo of Rohan Campbell as Billy Chapman in the Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot has been revealed.

Filming is now underway in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Deadline has shared an exclusive image from Cinverse’s production on the holiday slasher. A shirtless Billy is seen staring into a mirror.

Who is involved in the Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot?

Silent Night, Deadly Night stars Campbell as Billy Chapman, who, as a young boy, witnessed the murder of his parents by a man dressed as Santa. Billy then grew up in an abusive Catholic orphanage where he failed to process his trauma. As a teenager, Billy finally snapped, put on a Santa suit, and embarked on a killing spree.

Besides Campbell, Ruby Modine stars as Pamela. Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson will also appear.

The reboot of Silent Night, Deadly Night is written and directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85). Producers include Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead, who produced the original 1984 film, along with Jamie R. Thompson, Erik Bernard, and Jeremy Torrie.

Steven Schneider, Anthony Masi, Sarah Eilts, Brandon Hill, Brad Miska, Erick Opeka, Yolanda Macias, Matthew Helderman, and Luke Taylor.

“As production officially kicks off this week, we are excited about the magic that is being made with both the original team behind the 1984 classic teaming up with a new vision from Mike P. Nelson,” said Macias, the Cineverse Chief Content Officer. “We are delighted to welcome fans back into the Silent Night, Deadly Night universe with a reimagining that is sure to bring lots of merry mayhem.”

Directed by Charles E. Sellier Jr., 1984’s Silent Night, Deadly Night starred Robert Brian Wilson as Billy Chapman. The controversial slasher led many parents to protest the release and demand its removal from theaters. This dispute only added to the film’s lore as it became a cult classic, grossing $2.5 million on a $750,000 budget.
