Invincible Showrunner Promises ‘Highest Quality’ With Season 4 Release

Invincible’s executive producer recently shared a Season 4 update, hinting at its release window in the animated superhero series. The new season, set for 2026, continues Mark Grayson’s journey after the events of Season 3. Production is underway. Voice work is complete, and the team is focused on delivering the “highest” quality yet.

Simon Racioppa reveals when work began on Invincible Season 4

Invincible executive producer and co-showrunner Simon Racioppa confirmed during the Podvincible podcast that Season 4 is actively in production and seems to be on schedule. “We are not just focused on getting 4 done and finished and at the highest level of quality that we can,” Racioppa said, emphasizing the team’s commitment to maintaining high standards.

He added that scriptwriting for Season 4 began during the production of Season 3. “We started the scripts early in anticipation of hopefully a green light,” he stated, noting that the team worked on Seasons 2 and 3 together, and similarly began overlapping development on Seasons 3 and 4.

Racioppa explained that every season aims to improve on the last, highlighting enhancements in storytelling, directing, and action. “We try to improve every season, so I hope people feel that,” he said. He also noted the benefit of character development across seasons, referencing Eve’s progression. “She is a slightly different person than she was in 102. And it is nice to draw now on that history of her character to make her a more complex character,” Racioppa stated.

In March 2025, series creator Robert Kirkman confirmed that the team is actively working to finish Season 4. He also said they aim to reduce the gap between seasons. Kirkman noted that future seasons will not face the long delay seen between Seasons 1 and 2.

Amazon Prime Video confirmed a 2026 release for Season 4. The team has already completed voice work. Although no exact date is set, the timeline suggests an early 2026 premiere—likely around February, as with Season 3.

Kirkman also expressed interest in continuing the series long-term. He said the team hopes to produce “11 seasons or more,” depending on Amazon’s support.
