2 Citadel Spin-offs Canceled, Season 2 Gets Release Date Window
Two Citadel spin-off shows have been canceled after one season, while Citadel Season 2 has been given a release date window.
Created by Josh Appelbaum, Bryan Oh, and David Weill, Citadel premiered on Amazon Prime Video in April 2023. The spy action television series is executive produced by the Russo Brothers and stars Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra, Stanley Tucci, and Lesley Manville.
Citadel was renewed for a second season in March 2023, while an Italian spin-off series, Citadel: Diana, arrived in October 2024 before an Indian spin-off, Citadel: Honey Bunny, then premiered in November 2024.
Per Deadline, neither Citadel: Diana nor Citadel: Honey Bunny will be getting a second season. Plans for other spin-off shows are being put on hold for the time being.
When is the Citadel Season 2 release date window?
Citadel Season 2 has been given a 2026 Q2 (which comprises the months of April, May, and June) release date window.
“Having successfully traversed India and Italy, storylines from both Citadel: Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana will be woven into the upcoming second season of the mothership series Citadel,” Amazon MGM Studios’ Vernon Sanders, said in a statement. “While these successful and widely enjoyed international chapters will not continue as individual series, Season 2 of Citadel will be our most exhilarating yet. With high-stakes storytelling, new additions to our amazing cast and bold, cinematic ambition, the new season will deepen the emotional journeys of Nadia, Mason , and Orlick against the relentless force that is Manticore. We’re excited to share what’s next when Citadel Season 2 premieres globally in Q2 of 2026.”
Citadel Season 2 was previously eyeing a fall 2025 before now landing in Q2 2026.
Deadline’s article says of Citadel Season 2’s plot, “Season 2 is set one month after the events of the first season. In it, we find our Citadel spies underground, as they’re being hunted by Manticore agents around the world. They’re pulled out of hiding to join forces with a new team of unconventional spies when Manticore’s Brazilian billionaire Paulo Braga threatens to unleash a cataclysmic piece of technology, built by Citadel’s own Bernard Orlick, into the world.”
