Kano police seize over N100m hidden drugs in cement-laden truck

The Kano State Police Command has intercepted a mini truck transporting six large bales of suspected tramadol tablets concealed beneath bags of cement, with an estimated street value of over N150 million.

The development was revealed in a post by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, on Monday.

According to the report, the seizure was made during a sting operation at Alharini village in Ungogo Local Government Area of the state.

Makama stated that the truck was disguised as carrying cement, but a thorough search by operatives uncovered the concealed drugs. The police arrested two suspects in connection with the illicit cargo.

Those arrested include Imrana Rabiu, the truck driver from Bene town in Kebbi State, and Muntari Shuaibu of Kofar Gabas in Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

Police sources noted that the arrest and seizure were part of the command’s ongoing efforts to clamp down on drug trafficking and related crimes across the state.

They also reaffirmed the commitment of the command to work in collaboration with other security agencies to rid Kano of criminal activities.
