Hulu has announced the Summer of 69 release date for its newest coming-of-age comedy, which hails from Brittany Runs a Marathon star Jillian Bell in her feature directorial debut. The streamer also shared the first-look photos from the upcoming movie, introducing its main cast led by Saturday Night Live’s Chloe Fineman as Santa Monica.

“In the film, an awkward high school senior hires an exotic dancer to help seduce her longtime crush before graduation, leading to unexpected friendship and lessons in self-confidence, acceptance, and adulthood,” reads the film’s official synopsis.

The Summer of 69 is scheduled to start streaming on May 9, 2025, exclusively on Hulu. The cast also includes Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as Rick Richards, Paula Pell (Girls5eva) as Betty, Liza Koshy (A Family Affair) as Angel, Nicole Byer (Nailed It!) as Destiny, Sam Morelos (That ’90s Show) as Abby, Natalie Morales (The Morning Show) as Robin Goode, Alex Moffat (Saturday Night Live) as DJ Don, Matt Cornett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) as Max, Fernando Carsa (Acapulco), and Amalia Yoo (Grand Army).

The film is directed and produced by Bell from a screenplay she co-wrote with Liz Nico and Jules Byrne.
