The Last of Us Season 3 Set at HBO Ahead of Season 2 Release, Creators Give Statement

The Last of Us Season 3 has been officially greenlit at HBO.

Based on the popular video game franchise by Naughty Dog, HBO’s The Last of Us premiered in January 2023. The show is created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann and stars Pedro Pascal as Joel Miller and Bella Ramsey as Ellie.

The Last of Us Season 2 is now set to premiere on HBO and Max this coming Sunday, April 13, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The season will have seven episodes in total.

HBO has now announced that The Last of Us Season 3 has been officially greenlit ahead of the Season 2 premiere. A release date for Season 3 has not yet been set. Check out a teaser announcement video below

What did Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann say about The Last of Us Season 3?

In addition to Pascal and Ramsey, The Last of Us Season 2 stars Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Rutina Wesley as Maria, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, Jeffrey Wright as Isaac, and Catherine O’Hara as an undisclosed character.

“Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind,” the official logline reads.
