The Batman Part II Gets Filming Update as Robert Pattinson’s 2025 Fills Up

The Batman Part II has received a new update.

Following 2022’s The Batman and 2024’s The Penguin, director Matt Reeves is now working on The Batman 2, also known as The Batman Part II, which is scheduled to be released in 2027. The movie has faced some delays, as it was originally supposed to come out in 2026.

What is the latest Batman Part II filming update?

While Robert Pattinson previously said he believes The Batman Part II will go into production at the end of 2025, a new report from Nexux Point News now states that it won’t begin filming until “early 2026 at the earliest.”

This seems to be because Pattinson has been cast in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 3, which is expected to begin filming this summer. It’s not totally clear how large of a part Pattinson will have in that movie; however, it could very well keep him busy for a while, as Nexus Point News says production on Dune 3 will last “through the end of the year.”

On top of that, Pattinson also has a number of other projects that are in various stages of development. Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is currently being filmed, while he’ll soon be seen in other films such as Lynne Ramsay’s Die, My Love, Lance Oppenheim’s Primetime, and more. Additionally, he’s attached to produce Parker Finn’s Possession remake, though it’s unclear if he’ll also star in it.

Should The Batman 2 go into production in early 2026, that’s still enough time to make its October 2027 release date. If it gets started later than that, however, it could run the risk of being delayed again. Warner Bros. has not commented on that matter at this time.

The Batman Part II will be released in United States theaters on October 1, 2027, from Warner Bros. Pictures. Dune 3, meanwhile, does not yet have a release date, meaning it’s unclear if that movie will come out before The Batman 2 does.
