Sugar Season 2 Cast Adds Mission: Impossible & DCEU Stars to Apple TV+ Show

Apple TV+ has officially enlisted three new series regulars who will be joining the Sugar Season 2 cast for the upcoming next installment to neo-noir mystery drama series led by Oscar nominee Colin Farrell. This comes after nearly a year since the show had wrapped up its 8-episode first season.

“The series is a contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture, and television history: the private detective story,” reads the Season 2 logline. “After the events of season one, season two will see Sugar find himself back in Los Angeles taking on another missing person’s case, as he continues to look for answers surrounding his missing sister.”

Who is joining the Sugar Season 2 cast?

Shea Whigham (Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning), Sasha Calle (The Flash), and Raymond Lee (Quantum Leap) have been tapped to play series regular roles in Sugar Season 2. Whigham is expected to portray a government agency employee, who’s helping Farrell’s character in his investigations. Meanwhile, Calle is reportedly set to play a hustler working for the titular character. As for Lee, further details about his character are still being kept under wraps. They will be joining previously announced new cast members Jin Ha, Laura Donnelly and Tony Dalton.

The show is created by Mark Protosevich, with Farrell, Scott Greenberg and Chip Vucelich serving as executive producers. The next installment will be executive produced by showrunner Sam Catlin through his Short Drive Entertainment banner, along with Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg for Genre Films. The first installment currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.
