Who is in the Tron: Ares trailer?

The Tron: Ares trailer sees Jared Leto play an artificial being, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into reality on a dangerous mission. Evan Peters plays a villain named Julian Dillinger in the film, while Jeff Bridges also reprises his role as Kevin Flynn.

The cast of Tron: Ares further includes Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Hasan Minhaj, Gillian Anderson, and Sarah Desjardins.

The script comes from Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne, while Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Leto, Emma Ludbrook, and Steven Lisberger serve as producers. Russell Allen serves as executive producer.

Disney’s Tron franchise launched in 1982. Steven Lisberger wrote and directed the first Tron movie, which starred Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner, David Warner, and more. The sequel, Tron: Legacy, came in 2010. Top Gun: Maverick’s Joseph Kosinski helmed the movie, which saw Bridges reprise his role alongside Garrett Hedlund’s Sam Flynn and Olivia Wilde’s Quorra.

Both Tron movies were nominated for Academy Awards. Lisberger’s film received Best Costume Design and Best Sound nominations, while Tron: Legacy scored a Best Sound Editing nom.

Additionally, an animated Tron: Uprising show premiered on Disney XD in May 2012. The show ran for 19 episodes and has a voice cast that includes Boxleitner, Elijah Wood, Mandy Moore, Nate Corddry, and more.

Tron: Ares will be released in United States theaters on October 10, 2025, from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Tron, Tron: Legacy, and Tron: Uprising are all available to stream on Disney+ at this time.
