Jesse Armstrong HBO Movie With Steve Carell Gets Title, Release Date, & Photos
HBO has finally announced the official title and release date for its upcoming Jesse Armstrong HBO movie, which will served as the Succession creator’s feature-length directorial debut. Production is expected to wrap this week in Park City, Utah.
Now officially titled as Mountainhead, the HBO movie will center around “a group of billionaire friends get together against the backdrop of a rolling international crisis.” In addition, the first-look photos have also been revealed, providing the audience with a first look at the main cast led by Emmy nominee Steve Carell (The Office, The Patient) as Randall.
When is the Jesse Armstrong HBO movie release date?
Mountainhead is scheduled to make its debut on Saturday, May 31 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO, and will be available to stream on Max. The cast is also led by Ramy Youssef (Ramy, Poor Things) as Jeff, Jason Schwartzman (Bored to Death) as Hugo Van Yalk and Cory Michael Smith (Saturday Night, May December) as Venis. Additional supporting cast includes Hadley Robinson as Hester, Andy Daly as Casper, Ali Kinkade as Berry, Daniel Oreskes as Dr. Phipps, David Thompson as Leo, Ami MacKenzie as Janine and Ava Kostia as Paula.
The HBO original movie is written and directed by Armstrong. During Succession’s four-season run, the acclaimed scribe had won seven Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. In addition, he is also executive producing alongside Frank Rich, Lucy Prebble, Jon Brown, Tony Roche, Will Tracy, Mark Mylod, and Jill Footlick.
