Nigerian comedian AY Makun’s ex-wife, Mabel Makun, recently grabbed attention after a video of her attempting to mount a motorcycle, commonly known as an “okada,” went viral.

On March 2, 2025, social media was abuzz with discussions about the severe traffic congestion in Lagos. The standstill was reportedly due to the temporary closure of the Independence Bridge for maintenance, leaving many commuters, including celebrities, stranded for hours.

Determined to reach her destination despite the gridlock, Mabel Makun opted for an alternative means of transport. She shared a clip on her Instagram story, revealing her struggle to board an okada after attending a meeting. In her post, she mentioned being stuck in traffic for nearly five hours before deciding to take the motorcycle ride home.

The video quickly gained traction online, sparking conversations about Lagos’ notorious traffic woes and the lengths people go to navigate the city.

She wrote:

“Who asked me to go for this meeting today? The traffic in Lagos today is something else, on one spot for five hours.”

Mabel Makun posted a video of herself attempting to get on a bike. The mother of two had a hard time getting on as the rider guided her through the process. She pleaded with him to lower the bike so she could get on, but he insisted he couldn’t lower it any further.

After what felt like an eternity, Mabel finally managed to get on the bike, while the person filming couldn’t help but laugh.
