Portable Accuses Zlatan of Being a Fake Friend to Late Mohbad
Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has once again stirred controversy, this time addressing his fallout with fellow artist Zlatan Ibile.
It will be recalled that in June 2024, Portable accused Zlatan of straining his relationship with Davido by allegedly advising the Afrobeats superstar to be wary of him.
In a recent interview on the EchoRoom podcast, the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner took his criticism further, accusing Zlatan of not being a true friend to the late singer Mohbad. According to Portable, Zlatan posted a video of Mohbad being assaulted by music promoter Sam Larry at a video shoot but failed to publicly condemn the attack.
Portable further alleged that many individuals deceived Mohbad before his tragic passing, implying that the singer was betrayed by those around him. He, however, asserted that no one could do the same to him.
The ongoing tension between Portable and Zlatan adds to the long list of industry feuds involving the outspoken singer, who has never shied away from calling out fellow artists.
He said, “He is a bad friend. He was a bad friend to Mohbad and he was a bad friend to me. That is Zlatan. May God rest Mohbad’s soul, he was a good singer; they deceived him before they killed him and they cannot do that to me.
“I did not say that it was Zlatan who deceived him, but there is something he did that was very bad. Why did he post where Sam Larry went to attack Mohbad, but it was later found out that he was present? Why did he not stand against them?”.
