Superman Trailer Reveals Alan Tudyk’s 4th DCU Role & 13th DC Character

The CinemaCon trailer of James Gunn’s Superman has confirmed that voice-acting legend Alan Tudyk will be appearing in the project as Robot 4. Shortly after premiering the footage at the said event, James Gunn and DC Studios took to the internet to share the clip with the general public as well. The video contains just under four minutes of never-before-seen footage from the upcoming film, including a brief cameo from Tudyk, making it his thirteenth time playing a DC character.

New Superman trailer confirms Alan Tudyk is voicing Robot 4

Released by DC on their official YouTube channel, Superman’s CinemaCon trailer featured an extended sequence of Kal-El’s retreat to the Fortress of Solitude, as well as scenes from the first promo for the film.

The aforementioned clip opens with Superman crash-landing in a snowy wasteland. As the wounded Clark Kent struggles to muster his remaining strength, he also calls out to Krypto to bail him out of the situation. After playing around with his battle-weary master for some time, the super-powered dog manages to drag him back to his lair. There, Superman is greeted by a team of Kryptonian robots, including Alan Tudyk’s Robot 4, who escort him to the treatment table to tend to his injuries.

In his brief appearance, Tudyk’s character responds when Superman thanks the robots for their help. He then says, “No need to thank us sir, as we will not appreciate it. We have no consciousness whatsoever. Merely automatons here to serve.” Furthermore, the trailer cuts to the mechanoids diagnosing the Man of Steel’s battered condition and making use of sunlight to treat him.
