New Thunderbolts* Teaser & Posters Highlight Each Team Member
As Thunderbolts* gradually approaches its release date, Marvel Studios has released new posters for the titular team, along with a light-hearted teaser to increase the hype surrounding the project. Helmed by Jake Schreier, the upcoming feature will see Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine assembling six individuals from the MCU’s rogue gallery and leading them into a death trap, forcing them to join hands and embark on a journey to redeem themselves, all the while facing a world-ending threat in the form of Lewis Pullman’s Sentry.
Marvel releases hilarious Thunderbolts* teaser and character posters
Marvel Studios recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a new look at the leading characters of Thunderbolts*, posting individual posters for each of them alongside a new teaser.
The images not only showcase the team, consisting of Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, David Harbour’s Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost, Olga Kurylenko’s Taskmaster, and Wyatt Russell’s John Walker, in a rugged, battle-weary state but also provide a clever wordplay on the title of the movie.
For instance, the poster for Stan’s character categorizes him as a Thunderbolt* and is accompanied by a picture of a streak of lightning with the text “This is a lightning bolt” to establish the difference between the two.
Posters for the remaining Thunderbolts* characters also come with similar amusing comparisons, making use of different kinds of bolts to convey the message.
Meanwhile, the teaser also follows a similar pattern, all the while highlighting some intense action sequences with Pullman’s Sentry at the center of it.
Despite the update, Marvel has not shared any significant detail regarding the plot of the film. Thunderbolts* will serve as the final theatrical installment in Phase Five of the MCU, with The Fantastic Four: First Steps set to kickstart Phase Six later this summer.
Thunderbolts* is currently on track to hit theatres on May 2, 2025.
