South Park Season 27 Release Date Set in Trailer, Features Haunting ‘Blame Canada’ Remix
A new trailer for South Park Season 27 has been released.
Created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, South Park debuted in August 1997. The adult animated sitcom has since become a massive hit and has gone on for 26 seasons; however, it’s been some time since there’s been a new season of South Park, as South Park Season 26 wrapped in March 2023.
In the interim, there’s been a handful of specials — South Park: Joining the Panderverse, South Park (Not Suitable for Children), and South Park: The End of Obesity, with the first two having been released in 2023 and the latter in 2024.
Now, South Park is officially coming back, and you can check out the South Park Season 27 trailer below
When is the release date for South Park Season 27?
South Park Season 257 will premiere on Comedy Central on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
The trailer features a haunting remix of the iconic “Blame Canada” song, which was featured in the 1999 movie South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, though it lost to Tarzan’s “You’ll Be in My Heart” by Phil Collins.
Also included in the trailer are airplane collisions, Diddy, the Statue of Liberty being pulled down, and Randy asking his daughter, Shelley, if she’s been taking ketamine because he thinks “it could really help” her.
Parker and Stone told Vanity Fair in September 2024 that they didn’t release a new South Park season during the 2024 presidential election “on purpose.” Stone said at the time, “We’ve tried to do South Park through four or five presidential elections, and it is such a hard thing to—it’s such a mind scramble, and it seems like it takes outsized importance. Obviously, it’s f—ing important, but it kind of takes over everything and we just have less fun.”
All 26 seasons of South Park are currently available to stream on Max.
