Amazon shared a new Étoile trailer, previewing the upcoming Prime Video ballet drama from Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino.

What happens in the Étoile trailer?

The new series, a ballet drama, follows the story of dancers and the artistic staff of two world-renowned ballet companies, one in New York and one in Paris, as they both try to save their companies by taking a bold step and swapping their stars with one another.

Étoile is set to premiere on April 24, 2025, when all eight episodes will premiere exclusively on Prime Video.

“The original new series is set in both New York and Paris, and follows the dancers and artistic staff of two world-renowned ballet companies as they embark on an ambitious gambit to save their storied institutions: swapping their most talented stars,” reads the series’ official synopsis.

Étoile stars Luke Kirby, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lou de Laâge, Gideon Glick, David Alvarez, Ivan du Pontavice, Taïs Vinolo, David Haig, LaMay Zhang, and Simon Callow. Yanic Truesdale will also appear in the series as a reucrring guest.

Sherman-Palladino is best known for creating the hit Prime Video series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which her husband, Daniel Palladino, also worked on as a writer and director. Sherman-Palladino also created the hit comedy-drama Gilmore Girls, which Daniel also served as a writer.
