Drake Bell & Josh Peck Reunite, Talk Quiet on Set Documentary

Drake Bell and Josh Peck, the stars of the iconic Nickelodeon show Drake & Josh, reunited to talk on Peck’s podcast recently, and opened up about the Quiet on Set documentary that aired last year.

What did Drake and Josh say about Quiet on Set?

The pair recently reconnected for Peck’s podcast, Good Guys, to discuss their relationship, what they’re both up to now, and 2024’s Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, a five-part documentary series that detailed some of the toxic behind-the-scenes issues with children’s television programming in the 1990s-2000s.

As far as the documentary goes, Bell detailed how stressful it was to have Brian Peck (unrelated to Josh), the man who was arrested in 2003 for sexually assaulting Bell in 2001, on set while an investigation was still taking place.

“When we shot the pilot, we were in the middle of the investigation, but nobody [knew] anything because Brian hadn’t been arrested,” Bell said. “The worst part about it [was] having the monster in [my] safe place,” on the set where he and Josh would “goof around and put on our masks and wigs and makeup and make people laugh. Every day I got there [and] the monster was there. … He’s walking around set.”

In 2004, Peck pled no contest to two charges, and was sentenced to 16 months in prison, as well as having to register as a sex offender for life. During their conversation, Josh Peck said that at the time as a 14-year-old, he had no idea anything had happened, but seeing things in the documentary opened his eyes.

“In watching the documentary at 38, as a father, as a grown-up, so much was revealed to me of what you had to go through,” Josh Peck said. “I can’t even imagine that.”

Bell and Peck also spoke about the stress that the trial caused Bell in 2004. According to Bell, he was constantly stressed about the trial potentially having a negative impact on the status of their show, and that he was developing scabs on his head as he stressed about the trial going public.

“When this drops, is Josh going to look at me and be like, ‘Bro, you took our dream away?’ … Like, are we going to lose our show?” Bell said. “Dude, I was losing my hair. Like, I had these giant scabs on my head.”
