Adam Driver & Jessica Chastain To Star in The Dealer, First Details Revealed

Apple TV+ has officially revealed its next drama series, The Dealer, starring Jessica Chastain and Adam Driver. The Media Res series, which has been given a straight-to-series order, is written by Lucas Hnath and is set to be directed by Sam Gold.

Both Chastain and Driver are working behind the camera, with Chastain executive producing for Freckle Films alongside Kelly Carmichael. Driver will executive produce along with Gold and Sarah Lunnie.

What is Adam Driver & Jessica Chastain’s The Dealer about?

The Dealer, described as “a biting exploration of power, class, seduction and culture,” will see Chastain and Driver delve into the world of the elite art market “told through the eyes of an aspiring super gallerist” to be played by Chastain. The series will center on her “tangled relationship with her most gifted and unnerving artist,” played by Driver.

Additional executive producers include Hnath and Media Res’ Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer, with Arianna Anderson serving as co-executive producer. The Dealer will serve as Media Res’ fourth Apple TV+ series, following the newsroom drama The Morning Show, Pachinko, and the anthology miniseries Extrapolations.

The upcoming series will mark Chastain’s second project for Apple TV+. She can next be seen starring in the streamer’s upcoming crime thriller The Savant. The Oscar winner has made a name for herself starring in various acclaimed features, including The Help, Interstellar, Take Shelter, Miss Sloane, Molly’s Game, The Martian, and Zero Dark Thirty, to mention a few. Chastain’s other TV credits include George & Tammy, Scenes from a Marriage, and Blackbeard.

Driver will be heading on his second major television series role following HBO’s comedy-drama Girls. The Oscar nominee is known for his roles in the Star Wars franchise, BlacKkKlansman, Marriage Story, The Last Duel, Logan Lucky, The Report, House of Gucci, 65, and Ferrari, among others.
