Duster Teaser Trailer Sets Release Date for J.J. Abrams’ Max Action Show

Max has released the first official Duster teaser trailer, previewing the upcoming retro action series from executive producers J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan.

When is the Duster release date?

Duster is set to release on May 15, 2025, and will be available on the Max streaming platform. The new trailer follows the story of Jim (played by Josh Holloway), a mysterious getaway driver who finds himself thrust into a mystery after teaming up with a newly recruited FBI agent.

“Set in the 1970s Southwest, Duster explores the life of a gutsy getaway driver for a growing crime syndicate that goes from dangerous to wildly, stupidly dangerous when a tenacious young agent comes into town hellbent on taking his crime family down,” reads the official synopsis for the series.

Alongside Holloway, Duster stars Rachel Hilson, Keith David, Sydney Elisabeth, Greg Grunberg, Camille Guaty, Asivak Koostachin, Adriana Aluna Martinez, and Benjamin Charles Watson.

The upcoming show was created by J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan, with Morgan set to act as showrunner for the series. Abrams and Morgan wrote the first two episodes, with Steph Green directing them and also serving as executive producer.
