Troops crush bandits in Zamfara battle, dozens neutralized

Troops of Operation Fansan Yanma have inflicted heavy casualties on bandits who launched an attack on Mada town, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Security analyst, Zagazola Makama reports that the combined force of Nigerian Army personnel and the government-backed Askarawa militia engaged the heavily armed assailants in an intense gunfight, swiftly overpowering them with superior firepower.

The bandits, who stormed the town in large numbers, suffered heavy losses, with many killed on the spot while others fled into the forest, wounded.

“I can confirm that several bandits were neutralized, and our gallant troops suffered no casualties,” a security source revealed.

Pursuing the fleeing attackers, troops eliminated more of them as they attempted to regroup. Several weapons and motorcycles were recovered from the scene.

Security sources confirmed that calm has been restored, with additional troops deployed to prevent further incursions.
