Zion Ministry: Enugu police arraign alleged fake testifier

One Loveth Helen Alo has been arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in Enugu State for allegedly presenting a fake ministry before Evang Ebuka Obi’s Zion Ministry.

DAILY POST learnt that Loveth was earlier arrested by detectives from the Enugu State Police Command, attached to the Legal Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), on February 1, 2025.

Her arrest was following a petition alleging that she falsely claimed ownership of a five-bedroom duplex located at WTC Estate, Enugu.

She allegedly presented the property as hers during a testimony at Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos, Nigeria.

The suspect was seen in a viral video testifying at a Zion Ministry program, claiming that God had blessed her with the acquisition of the said property.

Footage of the building was displayed in the church during her testimony. In another viral video, she allegedly stated that she had purchased the house for two hundred million Naira (N200,000,000.00).

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime, admitting that she acted alone.

Today, Tuesday, she was arraigned before the Enugu North Magisterial District Court on a five-count charge, including obtaining by false pretence with intent to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony by trying to sell the property.

She was docked before the court presided over by S.O. Chukwuani.

One of the counts read: “That you Loveth Alo Helen ‘f’ on the 26th day of February, 2025 at Plot 16 WTC Estate, Enugu in Enugu North Magisterial District did by false pretence and with intent to defraud, present yourself as the owner of a Five (5) Bedroom Duplex situate at Plot 16 WTC Estate, Enugu belonging to one Arch. Emmanuel Asogwa ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 460 of the Criminal Code, Cap 30, Vol. II, Revised Laws of Enugu State of Nigeria 2004.”

After the charges were read to Helen, she pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Chukwuani admitted her to one million naira bail, with one surety with three years tax clearance.

The case was adjourned till April 9, 2025 for hearing.

Speaking to journalists after her arraignment, the suspect restated that she did not arrange or discuss the testimony with anybody.

She maintained that she did it as an act of faith with the hope that she will get it.

“I did the testimony claiming that I will get it, nobody arranged anything with me, I did not collect anything from anybody,” she stated.

As of the time of filing this report, Helen was yet to meet her bail conditions.
