Troops repel bandits in Katsina, rescue three kidnap victims

Security forces in Katsina State have successfully repelled an armed bandit attack in Bakori Local Government Area and rescued three kidnapped victims, including a woman and her two children.

The incident, which occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, was confirmed in a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X on Monday.

According to Makama, armed bandits stormed Guga Village in large numbers, but the swift intervention of Operation FANSAN YANMA troops forced the attackers to retreat.

The troops responded immediately and engaged the bandits in a fierce gunfight, compelling them to flee,” Makama reported.

However, as they retreated, the assailants invaded Nasarawa Quarters in Bakori Town, where they abducted a woman, Umma Bello (35), along with her two children.

Security forces immediately pursued the criminals and engaged them in another gun battle.

Overpowered by superior firepower, the bandits abandoned the hostages and escaped with bullet wounds.
