Thunderbolts* Reveals Who Owns Renamed Avengers Tower
Avengers Tower will be under new management in Thunderbolts*.
Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* opens in United States theaters this coming May. Directed by Jake Schreier, the MCU movie sees a team of antiheroes assemble together to complete a dangerous mission after they’re caught in a deadly trap laid by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who is played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
What is the new name of the Avengers Tower in Thunderbolts*?
Per Empire Magazine, Louis-Dreyfus’ character will assume ownership of the Avengers Tower in Thunderbolts* as the building has largely gone unused now that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have disbanded following the events of Avengers: Endgame. She will rename the building to simply “Watchtower.”
“We know what that tower means,” Schreier said. “Who’s the person you would least like to own that tower, that means so much to so many people? Can you use that as a symbol of things taking a darker turn?”
Schreier’s previous filmography includes 2012’s Robot & Frank and 2015’s Paper Towns. He has also worked on television shows such as Shameless, Lodge 49, Dave, Beef, and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
The cast of Thunderbolts* also includes Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Lewis Pullman as Bob/Sentry, Geraldine Viswanathan as Mel, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost.
Stan said of his role in the movie, “It’s like the Al Pacino quote from Godfather III. Every time I try to get out, they pull me back in. Bucky is going to come across this group, and realise that they’re quite similar, in a way, to him. So I think he feels he can contribute and be a leader.”
Marvel’s Thunderbolts* will be released in United States theaters on May 2, 2025.
