Shout! Studios and Fathom Entertainment have announced the Monty Python and the Holy Grail rerelease dates for the upcoming limited theatrical screenings of the classic comedy movie. Since its debut in 1975, the film has maintained a Certified Fresh rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“This cult classic comedy from the Monty Python team loosely follows the legend of King Arthur, along with his squire and his Knights of the Round Table, as they embark on a fearless quest in search of the elusive Holy Grail,” reads the official synopsis.”During their quest, they face a wide array of horrors, including a persistent Black Knight, a three-headed giant, a cadre of shrubbery-challenged knights, the perilous Castle Anthrax, a killer rabbit, a house of virgins, and a handful of rude Frenchmen.”

When is the Monty Python and the Holy Grail rerelease date?

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Monty Python and the Holy Grail will officially be heading back to nationwide theaters on Sunday, May 4, and on Wednesday May 7, 2025. Tickets for the special screenings will be available to purchase starting on Friday, April 4 at Fathom Entertainment website, or at participating theater box offices.

The movie was directed by Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, and Michael Palin. Together, they are a part of the British comedy troupe Monty Python, which they formed in 1969. Their dry humor and comedic genius propelled them to international stardom and through decades of performances, which became quintessential symbols of the zeitgeist. Besides Gilliam, Jones, Chapman, Cleese, Idle, and Palin, the casy also included Connie Booth, Carol Cleveland, Neil Innes, John Young, Bee Duffell, Sandy Johnson, and more. During its theatrical run, it became the high-grossing British movie in the US during its theatrical run in 1975.
