Box Office Results: Captain America 4 & Last Breath Lead 2025’s Lowest-Grossing Weekend Yet

It wasn’t a particularly good weekend at the domestic box office.

Marvel’s Captain America 4, also known as Captain America: Brave New World, led the weekend in the United States with $15 million, now bringing its total domestic gross up to $163.6 million. Focus Features’ Last Breath, meanwhile, came in second place during its first week, as that movie made $7.8 million in the United States over the past three days.

Per Deadline, this marks the lowest-grossing box office weekend of 2025 thus far. In total, the top ten movies grossed $53.3 million in the United States, which is lower than the Super Bowl weekend, which brought in $55.8 million.

Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17 opens next week and will hopefully bring some life back into the domestic box office, while Steven Soderbergh’s Black Bag and the Jack Quaid-starring Novocaine arrive the weekend after.
