Rooney, Amorim speak on Chido Obi’s performance as Man Utd crash out of FA Cup

Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney, has praised Chido Obi’s cameo as the team crashed out of the FA Cup on Sunday.

Chido Obi replaced Rasmus Hojlund in the 68th minute of the tie against Fulham at Old Trafford.

The Danish forward put up a spirited performance, but was unavailable to finish off some of the chances that fell his way.

After the game, Rooney and manager Ruben Amorim spoke highly of the teenager.

Rooney said on BBC MOTD: “What I’ve really liked about him is he’s put himself in some really good positions — I’ve been really impressed by him. He looked like the one who could go on and nick it.”

Amorim, on the other hand, told reporters after the match: “Anything can happen in the next games.

“We need to see the opposition, feel the moment of the player physically. I will focus on just the next game. I will choose the best players to win the next match.”
