The Wheel of Time Season 4 Teased, Showrunner Reveals How Long Show Could Last

The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins has finally opened up about the potential future of the hit fantasy drama ahead of the show’s Prime Video return this March 13. The series is based on the best-selling book series by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson.

In a recent interview, Judkins addressed how long The Wheel of Time could last, teasing that the series would definitely not wrapp up its story with the upcoming third season. He assured fans that they will do their best to deliver the ending it deserves when the time comes. At the moment, Amazon MGM Studios hasn’t announced a Season 4 renewal yet.

“I can see versions of the show that are six or seven seasons, but part of what makes the series great is the length,” he said (via SFX magazine). “It’s one of the reasons people read it [The Wheel of Time novels], and it stands alone in that sense. But I’m always realistic. I’m sure everyone will be happy if they’re like, ‘Oh, can you just do a satisfying ending in season 4 because we don’t make shows that long anymore.'”

He continued, “The truth is, the property doesn’t lend itself well to that. My job is to do everything I can to get it to the end and give you Jordan’s ending because it’s so powerful. It really does stick the landing. If we don’t, my job is to make sure we’re telling a great story up to that point.”

The fantasy series is developed and executive produced by Rafe Judkins, who also serves as the showrunner. Season 3 is led by Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred, Daniel Henney as al’Lan Mandragoran, Josha Stradowski as Rand al’Thor, Madeleine Madden as Egwene al’Vere, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, Kate Fleetwood as Leandrin Guirale, Natasha O’Keeffe as Lanfear, Ayoola Smart as Aviendha, and more. It is also produced by Pike, with Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson set as consulting producers.
