Marlon Wayans (Don’t Be a Menace, Requiem for a Dream) has opened up about the possibility of making White Chicks 2, after over two decades since the popular comedy movie made its debut. In the 2004 movie, Wayans played the role of Marcus, a Black FBI agent who goes undercover as a white female socialite.

During a recent interview, Wayans was asked about fan demands for a White Chicks sequel, revealing that he believes it is indeed time to revisit story. He confirmed that White Chicks 2 will be the next project that he and brother Shawn Wayans will make, after working on the upcoming Scary Movie 6. At the moment, further details about the long-awaited sequel are still currently under wraps.

“[Fans always ask] ‘When are you doing the sequel?’ They love that movie,” Marlon Wayans said (via Good Morning America). “Hey, you know, I think it’s time. Let’s get Scary Movie 6 done, and then we’ll go and bring out White Chicks 2.”

White Chicks was directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brothers, Marlon and Shawn Wayans. The ensemble cast also included Busy Philipps as Karen Googlestein, Jennifer Carpenter as Lisa Anderson, John Heard as Warren Vandergeld, Jaime King as Heather Vandergeld, Rochelle Aytes as Denise Porter, Terry Crews as Latrell Spencer, and more. Despite receiving negative reviews during its theatrical run, it still went on to become a cult classic and pop culture phenomenon, with fans continuously referencing iconic scenes and lines from the film.

“Two FBI agent brothers, Marcus and Kevin Copeland, accidentally foil a drug bust. As punishment, they are forced to escort a pair of socialites to the Hamptons, where they’re going to be used as bait for a kidnapper,” reads the official synopsis. “But when the girls realize the FBI’s plan, they refuse to go. Left without options, Marcus and Kevin decide to pose as the sisters, transforming themselves from African-American men into a pair of blonde, white women.”
