I dumped PDP for good governance, not political interest ‐ Ned Nwoko

The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Ned Nwoko on Sunday declared that his defection from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was not for political interest or personal gain, but a decision taken to align with good governance in the country.

The lawmaker, in a statement by his media consultant, Michael Ogah, added that his defection was not driven by electoral ambitions.

The statement said Nwoko spoke in Agbor while addressing stakeholders and party supporters.

“I did not leave the PDP because of elections. My decision was made after deep reflection on the party’s internal challenges and my commitment to ensuring that my people receive the best possible representation,” he stated.

The senator emphasized that his focus remains on delivering quality representation and supporting policies that drive progress in Delta State.

It would be recalled that Senator Nwoko’s defection to the APC has stirred political conversations across Delta North, particularly in Agbor, with analysts speculating on the implications of his move ahead of the next elections.

However, the lawmaker reiterated that his decision was not for personal gain but for the greater benefits of his constituents.

As the political landscape in Delta State shifts, the statement noted that stakeholders are closely watching how Senator Nwoko’s move will shape the region’s future.
